New Hampshire becomes the first US state to sign a Bitcoin reserve bill into law, allowing investment in assets with over $500 billion market cap — effectively meaning Bitcoin. Texas follows in June with S.B.21, creating the Texas Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Arizona’s attempt was vetoed by its governor in early May — the first state Bitcoin reserve bill to fall. The federal government has its reserve; now the states are racing to build theirs. Parallel to how US states hold gold, they will hold BTC.
